Class Expectations for
Introduction to Architecture
There are three assignments for each lesson and three main topics of concentration:
1. Architecture History
A. Scrapbook - 25%
B. Paragraph/Short Paper - 25%
2. Architectural Design - 50%
A. Weekly Project (or two!)
3. Final Project - 25% of grade for Instructor Graded Class (Lessons 7-9)
At first, this may seem more like an art class. By the end, it will all connect. Although, it has been proven that each week's assignment can be done in one week, sometimes a student may finish in five days, others in ten. When students have photographed and turned in their assignments, they will receive the user name and password to go onto the next week. (It is fun to have a new surprise every week!!) Knowing the projects in advance will keep you from focusing on the task at hand.
Students should schedule 6-10 hours a week for this class. "You get out what you put into it." Some students will do just enough to get by; others will go above and beyond. Students are expected to do what works for them, their expectations and schedules.
